Through the past two seasons, the Pittsburgh Pirates have been making an effort to rebuild their baseball club. The Pirates hope to take the rest of the NL Central division by surprise with their new additions of Ryan Church in right field and Akinori Iwamura at second base. These additions fill gaping holes left in the pirates lineup after the trades of Freddy Sanchez and Xavier Nady; with the addition of these players, the pirates expect to be contenders for the NL Central division in 2010.
