Hello fellow Heaters, I am Ejblogger, and I am here to tell you a bit about The St.Louis Cardinals newest star on the rise. His name is David Freese. Freese was drafted in the ninth round of the 2006 First-Year player draft by the Padres. Freese split the 2006 season between the Padres Low A Ball affiliate Eugene, and A Ball affiliate Fort Wayne. Freese hit a combined.317,with 13 home runs, and 70 runs batted in over 262 combined at bats in 71 games. In December of 2007, The Padres traded Freese to The Cardinals for Jim Edmonds. After being traded,Freese made an immediate impact in the Cardinals Minor League system, hitting .302 with 17 home runs, and 96 runs batted in at High A Lake Elsinore. In 2008 Freese skipped Double A,and went directly to Triple A Memhpis, where he hit.306,with 26 home runs, and 91 runs batted in. Battling injury,Freese started 2009 in the Rookie League, eventually working his way to Triple A at seasons end. Freese's combined stats were a .313 batting average, with 12 home runs, and 48 runs batted in in just 227 at bats at all three levels. Freese made his Major League debut on April 6,2009. Freese finished the 2009 season with a .323 batting average, one home run,and seven runs batted in over seventeen games with the Cardinals. In 2010,Freese is expected to become the Cardinals everyday Third Baseman. Based on last years numbers, Freese is projected to finish 2010 with a .321 batting average, with 16 home runs, and 109 runs batted in. However, since he will most likely be hitting behind Holiday, and Pujols, I don't see the batting average,or the rbi total coming close to that. I'll project a batting average around .280 or so,with 15 to 20 home runs, and around 70 rbis. As you all can see,David Freese could very well be the Cardinals Third Baseman of the future.
